Job description:

Penrose Criminal Justice Services are recruiting for a Peripatetic Responsible Officer to work across London on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The aim of this role is to support the team by covering cases across London in instances of staff sickness, leave and/or staff vacancies.

Working in partnership with the London Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) and MTCNovo, our service supports low risk adult males who are sentenced to a custodial order to resettle into the community and to break the cycle of reoffending. We provide guidance and support with a wide range of issues, from accommodation to training to financial advice, signposting our clients to relevant services in their area, as well as supporting them with any referral processes. We engage with agencies both within the CRC and across London, tailoring a package of support to best meet each individual’s needs. Our Responsible Officers are trained in risk management and are also required to initiate enforcement proceedings when necessary.

Experience of managing complex caseloads and statutory orders would be beneficial, as the role will be based in CRC offices across London, where you will provide frontline cover and be the representative for Penrose Criminal Justice Services. Due to the nature of the role, extensive travel and a high caseload is expected, which is reflected in a higher salary compared to a standard Responsible Officer role.

You will meet with your Team Manager and local Penrose team fortnightly, as well as attending full Penrose CJS Community Team meetings on a six weekly basis. All Responsible Officers receive a holistic induction training package and Penrose is committed to continual professional development through additional training, supervisions and appraisals.

Why work with us?

  • Excellent core and on-going training aligned with personal development plan
  • 25 days annual leave (increasing 1 day per year of service up to 30 days)
  • Pension, Eye-care Vouchers
  • Growing and forward-thinking organisation

All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS and provide employment references covering 5 years period including one from your most recent employer.
