Offender Resettlement Worker (bank)Work Location: London Resettlement Prisons Brixton Belmarsh Pentonville & Wandsworth
Contract: Full time – Fixed Term until September 2020
Opportunity to deliver resettlement support to men in prison:
We’re delighted to offer our dedicated bank staff the opportunity to undertake the necessary vetting processes to attain the security clearance required to work in a custodial setting, supporting prisoners to turn their lives around and reduce reoffending.
Our teams of Offender Resettlement Workers deliver immediate needs and pre-release support to over 7,000 men per year – taking a person-centred approach and linking in with a diverse range of agencies and support services to address the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Our teams currently operate in:
- HMP Belmarsh
- HMP Brixton
- HMP Pentonville
- HMP Wandsworth
To compliment our existing teams and to offer greater flexibility, we are providing bank staff with the opportunity to obtain the relevant clearance so that they can be deployed in one or more prisons to provide temporary cover. The vetting process is free of charge (although we cannot compensate you for any time until your clearance is achieved) and you may apply for clearance in as many of our prisons as you wish. Belmarsh is a Category A (maximum security) prison, meaning clearance here will typically take a longer period of 2-3 months to attain.
Once cleared all staff will receive a comprehensive training package covering the delivery of our services and operating in a prison environment, before being eligible for temporary deployment. Our teams work from 8am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday, and 8am-1pm on Friday.
