The Social Interest Group’s (SIG) Women’s Programmes Lead will be responsible for the delivery of the contract recently secured and funded by the Ministry of Justice; to provide gender specific interventions for women at risk of offending or with offending histories within Brighton, Hove, Luton, Bedfordshire and London. As the lead you will have overall responsibility for its design, implementation, development, monitoring and evaluation. The purpose of the fund is to develop Whole Systems Approach (WSA) models to provide joined-up, holistic support to address the complex needs of female offenders and other complex needs. It also aims to provide ongoing support throughout her time in the justice system where a woman is prosecuted which can help to reduce the risk of offending and, where progress can be seen, may allow those sentencing to divert her from a short custodial sentence into the community.
The Programmes Lead will have at least two direct reports which will be facilitating courses, group work and one to one sessions specifically targeting women who have experienced trauma, or are high risk groups of offending, within our own services and offering out to partner agencies including probation, mental health and local authority providers. The courses are designed to empower the women who undertake them to be able to better engage with the support available to them within services and avoid offending/re-offending.
This role will act as the SIG specialist for women’s services, which will require them to support and consult with the teams and service users throughout to ensure appropriate access and service delivery is available, along with reporting into the EMT their recommendations and findings from each service.
•Extensive experience of supporting women with multiple and complex need in a residential or community setting
•Extensive experience of developing and implementing services and programmes aimed at educating and empowering women who are survivors of trauma.
•Extensive experience of working in a multi-disciplinary capacity, including the chairing of group meetings
•Operational line management experience of individuals and services
•Experience of developing and delivering training and facilitating group work to both service users and staff
•Experience of contract monitoring and developing commissioner relationships, including financial management
•Good understanding of IT and potential assistive technology ideas
•Experience of developing new income streams and new business would also be an advantage
