Helen Ralston
Chair of Penrose
Helen was a member of the senior management team for a FTSE 250 company and then a chief executive of a national charity. Currently she is trustee of a national medical charity, a local Citizens Advice Bureau in Sussex and two residential schools for boys aged 6 -18 with special educational needs.

David Elliott
Vice-Chair
David is a widely experienced Economics and Strategy Consultant who has led a range of projects in the UK and overseas. David was previously Director of Strategy and Economics at Environmental Resources Management (ERM) where he was a member of the UK Board and earlier, spent 11 years as a management consultant with KPMG.

Richard Fass
Treasurer
Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and is the former Head of Finance for the Alzheimer's Society. Richard brings a strong profile in voluntary work and governance. Amongst other such appointments he has had experience as a Non-Executive Director of the North West London Mental Health NHS Trust. He is the Chair of the Penrose Finance Committee.

Emmanuel Acquaah
Currently the Business Support Manager for the Corporate Finance division at Barking and Dagenham Council, Emmanuel has worked in local government for several years. He has had experience in counter fraud investigation and has also been a member of a Board investigating improper conduct of councillors.

Tom Cahill
Tom is an experienced Board Director with extensive expertise at operational and corporate level. He qualified as a Registered Mental Nurse in 1987; he also holds a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA. His current role is that of Chief Executive of Hertfordshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Justine Cawley
Justine is an external funding specialist. She spent the final six months of her NHS career being seconded to the GLA where she co-wrote a £9.5m big lottery bid. She is currently self employed working with Universities, and the health and Social Care Sector on large funding proposals, developing strategies, partnership development, evaluations scoping exercises and developing health and social care courses for the University of East London.

Margaret Doherty
Presently working in Enterprise Development and Business Support at the London Development Agency, Margaret has worked in a range of high-profile public service areas including as Private Secretary to the Minister of State at the Department for Education.

Stephen Jacobs
Stephen's career has been characterised by innovative regeneration work within inner-city areas. He has also had a range of non-executive positions within the NHS. Since joining Penrose in 2007 Stephen has utilised his broad experience in the housing and social care field together with his board level experience in the public and private sector.

Altaf Kara
Altaf is currently the Vice President and General Counsel in Europe for the NCH Group. He is a guest lecturer at Birmingham University, International Business School and Professional Development and Training Seminars. He is a former Director of Focus Humanitarian Assistance and a former Member of the Legal Committee of the Ismalli Association.

Eleanore King
Eleanore is a Business Planning and Financial Reporting Manager with NHS London. NHS London is a Strategic Health Authority managing over 70 NHS organisations with annual expenditure of over £13 billion. NHS London is responsible for London based Primary Care Trusts, Mental Health Trusts and the London Ambulance Service.

Susan Lewis
Susan has had a long career in criminal justice and was an Assistant Chief Probation Officer for many years. More recently she was a member of the senior management team at East Living Ltd, and as Head of Care and Support, she was responsible for services for older people and learning disabilities. Susan qualified as a social worker and holds an MBA.

Daphne Obang
Daphne is currently a non-executive director of Secure Healthcare which is a social enterprise delivering integrated health and social care for offenders both within the secure estate and in the community. She was Director of Social Services and Housing at Bracknell Forest for seven years.

Joan Weight
Joan's recent experience has been as the Chair of two LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) companies. She has significant boardroom experience as most of her work for the last 16 years has been at Director and/or Board level. Her early career was in the private sector and more recently she has been working with public-private partnerships.
