Services and Programmes

Penrose is fully committed to working at the high-risk end of the complex-needs spectrum. Over 40 years ago our founders perceived a searing gap in service provision for those with the highest needs and we remain committed within this area above all others.

We are spear heading new innovations working with repeat Offenders who receive 12 months or less in prison.

At Penrose we are committed to the principles of personalisation, discourse of desistance framework, recovery giving clients choice and control over their personal plans and support packages, so all our interventions adapt to different learning styles, personalities, motivations and life experiences. We provide safe, sensitive services in which levels of support can be varied in accordance with the assessed needs of individual clients. In addition to brokering access and signposting to other services, Penrose delivers our own tenancy sustainment, education, social enterprise, training and employment programmes. These programmes are individually tailored to support clients in maintaining their independence in the community.

Achieving resettlement and moving on towards reintegration within the community requires
many layers of support and assistance. We focus on practical, meaningful strategies that will have lifelong benefits for crime/relapse-free, independent living.

New Services for 2011 and 2012

The current dramatic changes in funding with the inexorable increase in potential Service
Users, means that 2011 will see a number of new product launches. These have all been trialled with involvement from both Service Users and Funders taken into account. Reduced recidivism and greater mental health wellness satisfies all our client groups: Funders, Service Users and the community at large. It is our aim to deliver services that will most effectively
reduce the propensity to re-offend or relapse. To consistently meet these aims, we continually review our service provision throughout the year and create new products as frequently as required.

Our new services and projects for 2011/2012 include:
