“The service users have to have an aim and need to be pointed in the right direction to find themselves and what help they might need”, said Clive Diedrick.

It has taking the government a long time to wake up to the needs of people in the service users’ movement, be it mental health or drugs. It about time they put money into what services are available.

The government knows it makes sense and is cost affective. The future of treatment is about to change as more and more service users take control over what sort of treatment they want and have. I see the future of treatment as more opportunities for service users to get involved in so many different programmes it will be mind blowing what some of the service users will be doing?

The thing I have notice is not many service users are that well educated and because of this they do not like getting involved. There are many reasons why they don’t get involved. I think in the future there will be a small standard test in maths and English to find out what sort of education they have had and find out what can be done as it’s no good just living day by day.

The service users have to have an aim and need to be pointed in the right direction to find themselves and what help they might need.

I see the future in Penrose and other projects there will be some sort of contract that new service users will have to sign up as standard format and this will sort out some of the problem’s that service users have from coming from prison or hospital.

I hope to get enough training so I can work with other service users. Till such time I will keep doing what I am doing till I move forward and be ready to get a job.

I like the support. It helps me feel calm.
