The awards have been running since 2010 and recognise the outstanding achievements of many of Luton’s individuals, groups and organisations. These people are often unsung heroes who willingly give up their time to help others and contribute to our community.
Over the last few weeks people in the Luton community have been submitting their entries for the individuals and organisations who they feel should be honoured this year.
The short listing took place today and we are delighted to announce that Penrose Roots has been shortlisted in the ‘Environmental Achievement’ category.Â
Penrose Roots to Recovery is a garden based project that offers a range of client focused horticultural activities to help people break free from negative behaviour cycles and start living independently.
Samantha Smith, Manager of the Roots project said ‘Being shortlisted for a Luton Best Award is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Service Users who have helped build this project from the start. I am delighted that we are so highly regarded in the community and am proud of what our project helps people achieve on a daily basis.’
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 2nd December at Luton Hoo.
